Before Reston, there were meadows.

It is our mission to Restore Reston’s Meadows.

Reston National is committed to more community-driven sustainability efforts at the course. We are thrilled to support and welcome a diverse and complex ecosystem to our property. Our team has been working tirelessly to restore the meadow that was once the natural terrain of Reston. For project and progress updates, follow us on Facebook! Want to get involved our community project? Fill out our contact form below—we are always looking for skilled and knowledgeable community members to assist in our conservation efforts.

Q

Blue Birds

Ever wonder about those brown boxes on poles around the golf course? Scott Plank and War Horse Cities put them up in 2021, and the boxes have hosted Eastern Bluebirds and other cavity-nesting bird species ever since.

This year, 77 little Eastern Bluebirds fledged as well as 19 Tree Swallows, House Wrens and Carolina Chickadees. Thanks are due to the seven volunteer monitors who checked the boxes every week to ensure nesting conditions were safe.
