This program is recommended for juniors ages 6-13.  Each hour long session will divided into 30 minutes of full swing and 30 minutes of short game.  Junior will learn basic skills, fundamentals and etiquette in fun instructional and game stations that will enhance their ability from class to class.

Each student will be taught proper practice habits to ensure they retain what they learned during class. The classes are scheduled from mid March through October and juniors may register for a package of 4 or 8 lessons .  We also offer registration for single drop in classes.

Our junior academy group classes have been separated into two  levels.

*Minimum of 3 juniors for class to be held

Junior Academy 1 Birdies

Junior Academy 1 is for juniors who are interested in learning about the game of golf and for those looking to improve the key fundamentals. In this level, we will be establishing the foundations to a good golf swing as well as teaching the students good practice habits in order to help them retain and enhance their ability from class to class.

Junior Academy 2 Eagles

Junior Academy 2 is for those juniors looking to further advance the skills they have already established. In this level, the junior will be receiving more swing improvement instruction to further enhance their skills. Each session will be composed of short game and full swing instruction. The students will be diving deeper into the fundamentals and exploring new techniques to take their game to the next level.

*In order to bypass Junior Academy 1, the junior must take a 30 minute evaluation with one of the coaches or have a recommendation from a coach on our staff.

Classes are scheduled from mid March through October (Up to 9 classes per month) and juniors may purchase a 4 session pack or an 8 session pack that can be used at any point during the season. PGA Junior League

PGA JLG is designed to bring a “Little League” atmosphere to the game of golf. With teams of boys and girls, age 13 and under, PGA JLG provides a structured league environment for young golfers to compete and have fun! This is a great way to get, and keep, kids involved in the game!

The Learning Center at Reston National’s 2024 PGA JLG season will run from mid-March through June on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. During that time each of our 6 teams will compete in games and have several team practices.

Our mission is to create a safe and fun team environment for all levels of junior golfers and through golf and the competitive format teach sportsmanship and valuable life skills.

The Girls Team

This is a developmental and mentorship program for girls, ages 9-17, either already part of a high school golf team or those who one day would like to play golf in high school or beyond.

The format is guided towards good etiquette, proper practice routines, drills specific to each player, positive attitudes, and goal setting. Girls will receive on course situational instruction along with time at the practice areas improving their full swing and short game technique using video analysis.

Girls will learn how to prepare for high school golf, local competitions, or just their casual round on the course in a welcoming team environment. This is a great way to learn new skills, work on your golf game and make new friends.

Junior Scoring School

Discover the difference between teaching and coaching

Coaching takes a holistic approach to the game where the Coach gets to know and understand the student and through this relationship, guides the student towards their goal. To achieve this, commitment from both parties is required. This program is designed for current or aspiring high school or tournament golfers, or those juniors who simply want to develop the skills to take their game to the next level.

Junior Speed Training Program

Juniors need to hit certain speed windows (developmental ages to train speed) in order to maximize their potential for speed later in life. Once those windows are closed, it is more difficult to train speed. Juniors ages 5-17 will train to increase their club head speed using methods developed by SuperSpeed Golf and the Titleist Performance Institute.

Speed Windows:
Boys 7-9 and 13-16 years old
Girls 6-8 and 11-13 years old
