PGA Junior League

PGA JLG is designed to bring a “Little League” atmosphere to the game of golf. With teams of boys and girls, age 13 and under, PGA JLG provides a structured league environment for young golfers to compete and have fun!  This is a great way to get, and keep, kids involved in the game!

The Learning Center at Reston National’s 2020 PGA JLG season will run from mid-March through June on Saturday afternoons.  During that time each of our 6 teams will compete in games and have several team practices.

Our mission is to create a safe and fun team environment for all levels of junior golfers and through golf and the competitive format teach sportsmanship and valuable life skills.
Private Instruction
The Learning Center offers a variety of lesson-configurations focused on all phases of the golf game to suit your individual needs. Partner with another player(s) of your choosing for a semi-private lesson, or opt to have an individual private lesson.

Lessons are offered seven days a week. Choose between thirty-minute or one-hour sessions. Purchase individual or discounted packages of five. Video analysis and on-course instruction are available on in any session.
Cancellations received within 24 hours of a lesson will either be charged to the student or applied against their lesson package.  Failure to show up for a scheduled lesson without notice of cancellation will result in either the lesson being charged to the student or applied against their lesson package.  Special circumstances will be handled at the instructor’s discretion.  All classes and lessons must be used by the end of the season they were purchased, as no refunds will be offered.
Girls Golf Program
This is a developmental and mentorship program for girls, ages 8-17, either already part of a high school golf team or those who one day would like to play golf in high school or beyond.

The format is guided towards good etiquette, proper practice routines, drills specific to each player, positive attitudes, and goal setting.  Girls will receive on course situational instruction along with time at the practice areas improving their full swing and short game technique using video analysis.

Girls will learn how to prepare for high school golf, local competitions, or just their casual round on the course in a welcoming team environment.  This is a great way to learn new skills, work on your golf game and make new friends.

Junior Scoring School
Discover the difference between teaching and coaching

Coaching takes a holistic approach to the game where the Coach gets to know and understand the student and through this relationship, guides the student towards their goal. To achieve this, commitment from both parties is required. This program is designed for current or aspiring high school or tournament golfers, or those juniors who simply want to develop the skills to take their game to the next level.

Junior Speed Training Program
Juniors need to hit certain speed windows (developmental ages to train speed) in order to maximize their potential for speed later in life. Once those windows are closed, it is more difficult to train speed. Juniors ages 5-17 will train to increase their club head speed using methods developed by SuperSpeed Golf and the Titleist Performance Institute.

Speed Windows:
Boys 7-9 and 13-16 years old
Girls 6-8 and 11-13 years old

Details coming Spring 2020

Drive, Chip & Putt
A joint initiative founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf.
